The liberti churches are not simply concerned with compassion and care here in Philadelphia. We believe that the joy and peace of Christ is good news for all people. We believe that we are called to partner with churches overseas for our mutual encouragement and help in growing as followers of Jesus Christ. We also encourage liberti people to be a part of God’s healing of the world, and support them as they are called to do so.
Our current overseas partnerships include:
Mundri, Southern Sudan: Bethany Ferguson is counseling in this war-torn area with World Harvest Mission. Read more at her blog.
Kampala, Uganda: Our church has been privileged, in the first year of its life, to send out Melanie Musselmann, a founding member, to do medical missions work in Kampala, Uganda. Melanie is living and building relationships of ministry with people in Kampala. She is also making trips to the Ssese Islands of Lake Victoria to work with the women and children of fishing villages. She is serving on a medical team in the islands, seeking to partner with many there and work together to help develop stronger support systems and health care for these populations. She has been serving in Uganda with Africa Inland Mission since September 2010. To find out what she’s up to and to pray for her, you can visit her blog here.
Prague, Czech Republic: For the last two years, Talitha has been on the World Harvest Mission team in Prague and is returning to Prague for a third year as an extension of her initial term. Over the last two years, her job has consisted of three areas of ministry: being on staff at Faith Community Church, being a photographer and participating in/organizing art exhibits, and building relationships with Czech and international people in Prague. She is also on staff for their summer internship program. In the coming year she will be focusing her involvement to worship team, volunteering with Teen Challenge & recruiting people from our church to serve there (mercy & justice work), and participating in community groups and other regular elements of being in a church community. For more information, you can go to her blog here. To check out Talitha's photography, click here.
